Hi everyone! My name is Ariana Hosseini, and I am a fourth-year Animal Biology major. My time at UC Davis has been incredibly rewarding, as I've had the chance to explore the intricate connections between the environment, animals, and humans, and how these factors influence human health. Specifically, I have spent much of my undergraduate career at Vector Genetics Lab, investigating genetically engineered mosquitoes that are unable to transmit malaria and their interactions with their vertebrate predators. 

 

After graduating in the Spring, I will be pursuing a Master's of Science before applying to medical school! I am grateful for the Animal Biology major, as the research component integrated into the coursework has prepared me for my graduate studies and my future career aspirations.
