February 2022 ABI Student of the Month: Aeelin Beltran

I am Aeelin Beltran, a 3rd year Animal Biology student with a minor in Medical-Veterinary Entomology. The reason I chose this major is due to the ability to begin your research as an undergraduate student. I’m interested in becoming a research veterinarian along with working with companion animals and ths major is perfect! I enjoy how small our classes are and how we have the ability to choose our path! I just recently began my practicum working alongside my amazing mentor at the UC Davis Veterinary School. We’ll be taking a further look into canine/feline diabetes and how glucose acts as a major affect within the disease. I am also a part of KLOHC which is a one health clinic who provides free medical, veterinary, and dental care. Our goal is to provide safe and affordable care for the knight landing population!
